It’s been a long and winding journey for Patrick and I. It was a connection that evolved into a deep friendship between two people who lived half across the world apart from each other. In 1999, life-altering decisions paved the way for us to be geographically closer -- as I moved to the US to take my masters and Patrick decided to start up a new business in Pennsylvania after working for a few years in Colorado .
The friendship bloomed into something more and we became a couple. It’s been a wonderful journey since. We “dated” for several years and learned to adjust and compromise as we are two very different people. Needless to say, Patrick is Caucasian as can be and I am Filipino. We are so much different in culture, religion, family structure, education and so much more. Patrick is more of an introvert while I am more outgoing. Patrick reads anything under the sun while I prefer reading light-hearted books. Patrick prefers serious films while I tend to watch more of the easygoing kind of movies since I am a sucker for happy endings. Patrick is more of a radio/cd guy while I am more of a TV person. I grew up in a family where everyone dances while Patrick claims that their family hails from generations of people who do not dance.
In other words, Patrick is a little bit country and I am a little bit rock and roll! But together, we play beautiful music!
We have traveled and visited different places in countless road trips and Patrick had taken me to different states showing more of America . It has really been wonderful how we have been brought together and we have been inseparable since.
